We are now rolling out our new taxi quoting and booking system. This will allow us to provide much more accurate quotes for customers.

The new system is based on distance using Google maps and payment continues with the Paypal system. We will be offering a range of different currencies for quotes and payments, however you must remain in the same currency for all your purchases if you want to pay for all travel at the same time.

The new system will help us to provide a much more flexible service to you especially as we expand into different countries.

The current fixed prices will remain for now but the fixed fare system will be depreciated over time. All new services that we offer will only be available through the new system. The new quote system allows you to get quotes based on postal codes or street addresses and will allow us to give taxi fares in all countries that are covered by Google maps.

If you need to get a quote just visit the page of the relevant airport or port and choose your vehicle and currency type, you will then be taken to the relevant quote page for you to put in your destination.

From 7th June 2010 Flightcabs will be offering a limited airport taxi service to and from Hong Kong International Airport. we will only be offering an executive airport car and limo service. We hope to be able to expand the service to include our standard Kia Sedonna by the end of the year.

The executive car service that the franchisee is offering is also slightly different from our usual executive car in the he will be running the Jaguar XJ as opposed to the normal Jaguar XF.  we are currently finalising the prices on this new service and if this higher quality car proves popular with our commercial and executive car service we will look to introducing a premium plus service elsewhere.

Our taxi services from Hong Kong International Airport will serve all the main hotels and commercial districts of Hong Kong and also offer services to and from cities in mainland China.

We have every confidence that the new Jaguar XJ will prove to a popular choice with our corporate and business travelers. You can see the quality of the new 2010 Jaguar XJ below. The model of vehicle our franchisee will be offering will be the Luxury LWB.

This is the first time that we have been involved in one of the Asian economies but we see the tiger economies and the emerging markets of South America, Asia and Africa as being where the bulk of our growth will come from. With this in mind we have been very careful to ensure that franchisees of these countries will be on exactly the same terms and conditions as franchisees in the developed world.

The result of this means that wherever you use a Flightcabs airport transfer in the world you will have confidence that the levels of service are the same from the type and quality of vehicles through to the employment standards and payments of drivers.  As a company we want to ensure the we meet our social responsibilities by not abusing workers in low wage economies in much the same way that we meet our environmental responsibilities by carbon offsetting all our carbon emissions and monitoring the fuel efficiencies of our vehicles.

We hope to have our first levels of taxi fares from Hong Kong International Airport online from the end of the week. We look forward to meeting your executive airport transfers in Hong Kong.

Although talks are still ongoing between British Airways and Unite, it currently looks likely that the planed strikes will start tomorrow.

BA has said that 60% of it’s long-haul flights will operate as normal while 50% of it’s short-haul flights from Heathrow will also operate as normal. They do not expect any disruption to their flights out of Gatwick Airport.

While we do not yet know which flights are going to be affected by the BA strike disruption we have decided to take the option of allowing our customers to delay their airport transfers if they are affected by strike action. The following will be applied to the period of the strikes from tomorrow through to 10th June.

The normal terms and conditions requirements of 48 hours notice for full refund will be reduced to 24 hours notice.  We will also allow for re-booking of the airport transfer to be undertaken at any time up to when the driver is dispatched to complete your booking. Please be aware that this is the time that the driver is dispatched and not the time that you have booked for so please take into account journey time for our driver when deciding to change your date or time of transfer. Once your driver has been dispatched there will be no refund or option to change booking. the current details of the BA strike dates and the companies proposals are given below.

As of Sunday 23rd May all flights for BA from Heathrow have been confirmed as flying for the first strike period of 24th – 29th May.

We advise that if you are flying with British Airways that you check the website for the latest news on the strikes.  BA will be announcing their flight plans for the second strike period (20th May – 4th June) on 26th May.

For the third strike period (5th June – 9th June) BA will be announcing their flight plans on 1st June.

Throughout the strike period BA are expecting to fly normal services from both Gatwick and London City Airports.

Our experience of the previous strikes was that there will be little real disruption to travel plans and most clients will not need to change their Heathrow Airport taxi booking. If things change then we will update you on any futher changes to our policy on strike action by Unite.

Testimonials
