Getting a quote is quick and easy on the FlightCabs web site. Just type in your address of where you are going to or coming from and then select the airport or port. click on the get quote button and your quote will appear. If you are going FROM the airport then you also need to add on the airport pick up charge of 15.00. This covers the waiting and parking charges for the first 40 minutes.
When you type in your address use road name and town name (plus UK) you should be able to use post codes but always put in UK. If you use too vague an address you may get not found - this is normally because of two identical place names.Vehicles used by flightCabs are mainly under 5 years old. On occasion we may need to use cars older than this. This is rare though and in fact most of the cars at FlightCabs are under 3 years old. Only using modern cars mans they are more fuel efficient which helps keep our prices low.
How do I meet the driver at the airport?
Your driver will arrive in the arrivals hall of the airport approximately 20 minutes after the plane has landed. they will meet you at the meeting point in the arrivals hall (for terminal 5 we meet at the South meeting point in the orange zone). when you book your car you will be given the mobile number of your driver in case of problems. You driver will be holding a name board displaying the FlightCabs name and also your name.
All payments are made in advance and online through the google checkout system. You can use most debit and credit cards when you make your payment. No booking is confirmed until payment has been made.
What is your cancellation policy?
If bookings are cancelled with at least 24 hours notice in writing or email then we will refund payments made. If the booking is cancelled between 12 hours and 24 hours (in writing or email) then we will refund 50% of the booking fee. There is no refunds on cancellations made less than 12 hours before the booked time.
Do you operate company or personal accounts?
We aim to keep our prices as low as possible and for this reason we do not offer account facilities. you are more than welcome to use your business creditor debit card to make your booking through the Google check out system.
How long will you wait at the airport for?
Your airport pick fee covers the first 60 minutes wait and parking charges. After 60 minutes extra charges are incurred to cover parking - currently 5.00 per extra 10 minutes. We will wait up to 90 minutes from when the plane lands for you. 90 minutes after the plane lands we will make the following enquiries where feasible: immigration, customs, lost baggage, health screening centre. we will also ask airport information to put out a call. 10 minutes after the call has been made if you do not appear at the meeting point the driver will leave and no refund is due. We strongly advise you to contact the driver if you are going to be more than 90 minutes after the flight lands. It is your responsibility to inform the driver that you have landed at the airport and are being held up. This is particularly important for overseas students or contractors who may be called in for immigration interview or health checks and x-rays.
Is there extra charges for an airport pick up.
Yes there is. Because of the extra waiting and car parking charges we have to make an extra charge to cover this. the charge is 15.00 and you MUST select this on the booking form if you are being picked up from an airport.
What are your two most important pieces of advice?
Firstly be honest with your luggage requirements. If 4 of you are travelling and you have 8 suitcases plus hand baggage you are NOT going to be able to fit into a standard taxi so don't try and save money by booking one. All that will happen is the driver will refuse to carry you on safety grounds, you will lose your payment for being in breach of our conditions and you'll need to make last minute alternative arrangements. Our maximum suitcase size is : 76 x 48 x 29.
Secondly please remember that if you are on an overnight flight to always double check that you book your pick up on the day that you LAND not the day you depart. We have this problem at least once every couple of months- it's not an unusual occurrence.Yes, road safety is very important to us so we are happy to provide category 2 and 3 child seats. Unfortunately we can not provide other sizes.
